  • 1996-2005: Assistant professor in Probability at the Department of Statistics, University of Rome 'La Sapienza'.
  • 2005-present: Associate professor of Statistics at the Department of Statistical Sciences, Sapienza University of Rome.
  • Qualified as full professor of Statistics in 2014; currently awaiting posting.

Teaching activity

Currently teach statistics courses at the University of Rome. In the past have taught probability and mathematic analysis at my university. Have also taught various statistics and mathematics undergraduate, graduate and PhD courses in other universities and research institutions in Italy and abroad, including the University of California at Davis.

Research interest

Research activity is focused on different aspects of statistical inference. 
Main research topics are:

- nonparametric methods
- multiple testing for spatial data
identification of filaments
manifolds estimation

Most of the research activity is in collaboration with colleagues from the 
Department of Statistics, Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, USA).
